When does the school year start at Shreveport Bossier?

School starts in about a month for some students in the Shreveport Bossier area.

Shreveport students can get out and enjoy the summer longer than most other districts in the area. But they will go a little longer next year.

Caddo Parish Dates:

The parish of Caddo begins school on August 23. There is a spring break from October 11 to 13. The Thanksgiving holiday is from November 22 to November 26. The Christmas holidays are from Monday December 20 to Friday December 31. Schools reopen on January 3. The last day for students in 2022 is May 26.

Dates of the parish of Bossier:

The schools of the parish of Bossier begin on Thursday August 12th. There is a full week for the fall vacation from October 11 to 15.e. Bossier students also have Thanksgiving time off. The Christmas holidays for Bossier students take place from Monday December 20 to Monday January 3. Students return to class on Tuesday January 4. The last day for students in 2022 is May 19.

Dates of DeSoto Parish:

In DeSoto Parish, classes begin for all students on Wednesday August 4th. The fall holidays are from Friday October 1 to Friday October 8. Schools will also be closed for Thanksgiving week. Christmas vacation for DeSoto Parish begins December 17th (no school that day) and students don’t return until January 5th. The last day for students in 2022 is May 20.

Webster Parish Dates:

Schools in the parish of Webster resume their classes on Thursday August 12th. Webster Parish has a long fall break that begins Monday October 11 and ends Friday October 22. Students also have a Thanksgiving week, and Christmas vacation runs from Monday, December 20 through Monday, January 3. Students return to class on January 4. The last day for students in 2022 is June 14. In 2021, the school ended on June 3 in the parish of Webster.
