MoDOT has scheduled roadworks in northern Missouri for the week of June 7, 2021

The following is a list of general road maintenance and construction work that the Missouri Department of Transportation has scheduled in northern Missouri for the week of June 7-13.

All road closures and planned road works can be viewed on the travel information map at http://traveler.modot.org/map/.

Bad weather may cause schedule changes in some of the planned work. There may also be moving operations throughout the region such as patching potholes, mowing, plotting, signage work, etc. in addition to the work mentioned below.

Andrew County

Interstate 229 – I-29 resurfacing project, north of St. Joseph, to Highway 371 (milepost 14 to 3) until mid-September. One lane will be closed around the paving operation, which is expected to continue until June.

I-29 – Project to replace the northbound bridge over Hopkins Creek (mile marker 58) through September. Traffic is one-to-one in the southbound lanes. This bridge is included in Governor Mike Parson’s $ 351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

US Route 59 – Project to resurface from I-29 to US Route 71 until the end of June. Flagmen and a pilot car will direct motorists through the work area. A width restriction of 12 feet will be in place for the duration of the project.

  • Ramps north and south from I-29 to US Route 59 (Exit 65) periodically FIRM for resurfacing milling, June 7-8, in daylight

Route DD – Approach work from Park Street to Swenson Street, June 7

Atchison County

I-29 – Nishnabotna River Bridges Bridge Replacement Project North and South (Mile Mark 122 – 124) until August 2022. One lane in both directions may close for the construction of a crossing. Traffic will be moved head-to-head in the southbound lanes in mid-June.

Route B – Roadway repair and resurfacing project from I-29 to US Route 59 near Rock Port until mid-June.

Route 111 – Route E to Route 111 Spur (Holt County) resurfacing project through June.

Buchanan County

I-229 – Project to resurface Route 371 to I-29, north of St. Joseph (mile 3 to 14 mark) until mid-September. One lane will be closed around the paving operation, which is expected to continue until June.

US Route 36 – Railing, pavement repair and resurfacing between the Missouri River and 0.75 miles east of the AC Highway until early August. A 12 foot width restriction is in place. Periodic ramp CLOSING will take place June 8-11 for resurfacing as follows:

  • June 8 – I-29 Westbound exit ramp and Westbound US Route 169 (Belt Hwy) exit ramp
  • June 9 – Westbound Belt Highway slip road, 28e and 22sd Access and exit ramps
  • June 10 – eastbound 22sd Street, 28e Street and Belt Highway on and off the ramps
  • June 11 – I-29 access and exit ramps east and west (trefoil interchange)

US Route 169 – Signage work at the Beck Road intersection from 7 p.m. on June 10 until 7 a.m. on June 11. Single lane closures and turn restrictions may be in place.

Cook’s Route – FIRM at the I-29 bridge for deck repairs, from 6 a.m. on June 7 to 6 a.m. on June 8. The roadway will remain closed overnight.

US Route 169 and Route 6 – Pavement strips, June 8 – 9

US Route 169 – Signage work at the Cook Road intersection, June 8. Single lane closures and turn restrictions may be in place.

Route of genetic fields – FIRM at the I-29 bridge for deck repairs, 6 a.m. on June 8 to 6 a.m. on June 9. The roadway will remain closed overnight.

Route 759 – FIRM for maintenance of the tracks at the Burlington Northern crossing south of Cedar Street, from 7:30 a.m. on June 9 to 7 p.m. on June 10

Caldwell County

US Route 36 – Pavement resurfacing and repair in Caldwell, Livingston and Linn counties through mid-July. There will be intermittent lane closures with a 14 foot width restriction.

Carroll County

Z course – Closed until further notice from Highway C to County Road 217 due to road slide damage and ongoing geological surveys.

Course D – FIRM in sections for a Route 10 seal coat project in Mooresville (Livingston County), June 7 to 11 from 7:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily

Chariton County

Route 139 – FIRM for a bridge replacement project at the Grand River Overflow Bridge until early July.

Clinton County

I-35 – Repair of the roadway on Route 116 at Shoal Creek until June. There will be intermittent lane closures with a 10 foot width restriction.

Route K – Pavement repair, June 7-11. Signalers and a pilot car will guide motorists in the work area.

Daviess County

Route P – Pothole Repair, June 7-11

DeKalb County

US Route 36 – Pavement repairs, guardrail upgrades and resurfacing westbound from Route 31 east to Route C and eastbound from Route 33 to the Grindstone River through July. A width restriction of 12 feet will be in place for the duration of the project.

Gentry County

American Route 169 – FIRM for a bridge deck replacement project over the Middle Fork of the Grand River, near Gentry, through early August.

Route BB – Pothole Repair, June 7

Route M – Pothole Repair, June 8 – 9

Harrison County

Course P – FIRM for a bridge replacement project on White Oak Creek through early July.

I-35 – Southbound work permit just south of the Eagleville rest area, June 7-9

Route ZZ – Pothole Repair from Route P to Route T, June 7-10

Holt County

Route 111 – Route 111 Spur to Route E (Atchison County) resurfacing project through June.

Route B – FIRM for a bridge deck replacement project on I-29 near Oregon until June.

I-29 – Intermittent lane closures, in both directions, between exits 67 and 75, as part of a bridge deck replacement project on Highway B, near Oregon, until June. A 12 foot width restriction is in place.

Course D – FIRM for the repair of the roadway from Route 113 to Route C, from June 7 to 11 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day

I – 29 – Repairs to the roadway at kilometer post 91.2, 9 – 10 June

Linn County

US Route 36 – Pavement resurfacing and repair in Caldwell, Livingston and Linn counties through early July. There will be intermittent lane closures with a 14 foot width restriction.

US Route 36 – Westbound Bridge Maintenance at Big Turkey Creek Bridge, June 7-11

Livingston County

Route 190 – Bridge maintenance and environmental clean-up at the Thompson River Bridge, west of Chillicothe, until mid-June. A 12 foot width restriction is in place.

US Route 36 – Pavement resurfacing and repair in Caldwell, Livingston and Linn counties through mid-July. There will be intermittent lane closures with a 14 foot width restriction.

Course D – FIRM in sections for a seal coat project from Mooresville to Highway 10 (Carroll County), June 7 to 11 from 7:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily

Mercer County

BB course – FIRM at the Weldon Fork Creek Bridge spur for a bridge deck replacement project through early July.

Nodaway County

US Route 71 – Intersection improvement project at Icon Road through early July. A 12 foot width restriction is in place.

Icons route – FIRM at the intersection of US Route 71 for an intersection improvement project until early July

AC route – FIRM for a culvert replacement on County Road 135th to 142nd, June 8, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

US Route 71 – Culvert repair north of the U Route intersection, June 9-10. This will include an overnight lane closure.

Sullivan County

Route U – Pothole Repair, June 7 – 9

Route PP – Water landing of Route 139 at Almond Drive, June 7 to 9

Route O – Pothole Repair, June 9 – 11
